The 2000 Note Exchange date 2024 September 30, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
ICICI Bank Suddenly sent an informative mail to every customer, and they explained and guided customers on how and what can be done with Rs 2000 banknotes through the mail.
ICICI Bank said that you can exchange your Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes at any bank branch (up to Rs 20,000 at a time).and also You don’t need to have an account with the bank to change your 2,000 banknotes.
The last date to exchange, and deposit the withdrawn Rs 2000 banknotes is September 30, 2023, according to the Reserve Bank of India even though the notes will continue to be valid as legal tender after that date.
According to the RBI press release on 19 May 2023, “By the RBI They are giving the facility for deposit or exchange of Rs2000 banknotes will be available for members of the public up to 30 September 2023. The facility for exchange of Rs 2000 banknotes will be provided to all members of the public by all banks through their branches.”
The RBI Governor, Shaktikanta Das, the main goal of the introduction of the Rs 2,000 note was to immediately replace the value of the currency that was being removed from circulation as a result of demonetization The decision was made to withdraw these notes because the objective has been achieved and there are now sufficient notes of other denominations, he said at a media briefing on May 22, 2023.
According to Das, the RBI will determine whether to extend the September 30 deadline after determining how many of these notes are returned to banks. When asked why there was a deadline for exchanging these notes since they would still be considered legal tender, he responded that without a set date, people wouldn’t take the process seriously and it wouldn’t come to a conclusion, Das added. Das stated that there was no rush for anyone to return or swap the Rs 2,000 notes they were holding. “There is no reason to rush to banks. You have four months, till September 30,” the Governor said.

Step 1 – Visit the nearest bank branch with Rs 2000 notes if available to you.
Step 2- Fill in the requisition slip, and enter the details ass required in the form then facilitate the exchange process of Rs 2000 notes.
Step 3: Then submit the slip along with Rs 2000 notes to be exchanged with the other denominations.
